Transforming the Image: How do we see? A mother/daughter journey Gallery Talk

Join artists Esther B. Folts and Blair A. Folts for a discussion about their work currently on exhibit at the BGA. Walk through the East Gallery, viewing Esther's charcoal and pencil drawings as she shares her intrigue with the human figure as subject and her approach to drawing the figure as metaphor. Blair will explain techniques she uses in creating her monotypes and the Xerox lithography process. She will show images taken on her two recent trips to Mongolia (the inspiration for her recent work) and introduce the Mongolia Postcard Project -- a drawing collaborative between Mongolia and the USA in 2009. The audinece is encouraged to create a postcard to send to Mongolia. Free and open to the public.
